Terms and Conditions

The property known as Manoir de Saule self-catering gite accommodation is offered for holiday rental subject to confirmation by Mr and Mrs Baker (the owners) to the renter (the client).

Weekly lettings are normally from Saturday (16:00) to Saturday (10.00). If late arrival is expected, please let us know at your earliest convenience. The owner shall not be obliged to offer the accommodation before the time stated and the client shall not be entitled to remain in occupation after the time stated unless otherwise agreed previously.

The maximum number of persons to reside in the property must not exceed the number as stated in the owner's website, unless the owner has given written permission.

To secure reservations, a 50% deposit is required at the time of the booking with the balance to be paid at least 6 weeks before the commencement of the rental date. For reservations made within 6 weeks of the commencement of the rental date, payment is required in full at the time of the booking.

At the time of booking, a €250 security deposit is payable to cover the cost of any damages / breakage within the Gite during your stay. Any costs incurred to carry out repairs / replacement of damaged / broken items will be deducted from the security deposit.

Gas and Water included. Electricity metered at a rate of 15 cents per unit the usage of which shall be payable prior to departure.

On departure, a charge of €40 is payable for cleaning of the Gite prior to the arrival of the next guests.

The client is strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) and to have full cover for the party's personal belongings, public liability etc, since these are not covered by the owner's insurance.

The client agrees to be a considerate tenant and to take good care of the property and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. The Guests are kindly requested not to disturb other tenants on the property complex or neighbouring properties in any way in particular loud noise or music.

The client shall report to the owners, without delay, any defects in the property, or breakdown in the equipment, plant or machinery, or appliances in the property or garden. Arrangements for repair and/or replacements will be made as soon as possible. Articles damaged or broken during your stay should be replaced like-for-like, we hope that you will notify us of any damages or breakages however small so that we are aware and can replace the item in time for our next guest.

The owner shall not be liable to the client for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property. Nor in respect of any equipment, plant or machinery or appliance in the property or garden, for any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or any other matters beyond the control of the owner. Nor for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the client, if the property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period, and in any such event, the owner shall within 7 days of notification to the client, refund to the client all sums paid previously in respect of the rental period. Under no circumstance shall the owner's liability to the client exceed the amount paid to the owner for the rental period.

Clients have access to the following areas: the fenced off grounds around Manoir de Saule, the dedicated garden, and the children's play area associated with the Gite’s, beyond these boundaries client access is prohibited without prior permission of the owners, this includes use of the swimming pool (during opening times) and use of the lake, any access granted is strictly at the risk of all clients staying at Manoir de Saule. The use of the swimming pool by clients shall be strictly in accordance with the list of Swimming Pool Rules created for safety purposes. Beyond the fenced off areas, clients should note that there are various (but not necessarily visible) open drainage ditches many of which run down to the unfenced banks of the river; La Terrette bordering some of Manoir grounds.

The owner shall not be liable for any accident or injury, however sustained on the premises or gardens by the client or by members of their party or guests.

This contract shall be governed by English & French law in every particular including formation and interpretation and shall be deemed to have been made in England. Any proceedings arising out of or in connection with this contract may be brought in any court of competent jurisdiction in England or France.

Cancellation Policy: More than 6 weeks before the start of the rental period - deposit non refundable (where payment has been made in full, the difference between the deposit and the full amount will be refunded to the client). Less than 6 weeks before the start of the rental period - no refunds will be given.
