Thank you so much! Wonderful gite, beds are very comfy, the pool is great, especially on those hot days. We had a lovely week seeing all the sights beautiful Normandy has to offer. Ioana couldn't have been any more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We all want to come back soon!!!

Ioana, Howard, George and Max. We had the best time here in your beautiful gite! We have finally managed to visit all the D-Day beaches, what an impressive and moving experience. Our son Mees had a lovely time in the pool. We will definitely recommend you to our fiends and family. I hope you succeed in your new ventures. Many thanks.

Ioana and family. A huge thank you Ioana for your warm welcome. The gite is wonderful and we have wanted for nothing. We travelled quite a bit and finally after so many years of visiting France, we've managed to see Mont St Michael. Dead Man's corner was definitely worth a visit. But it was your warm welcome and lovely gesture of bubbly to mark our 40th wedding anniversary that has meant so much to us. We will warmly recommend your lovely gite and if by some chance we don't get to return, we wish you and family all the best and success for the future.

We enjoyed our stay at Manoir de Saule. The studio was perfect, clean and well equipped. Ioana and her husband are very nice people and available if needed. The landscape around the Manoir was beautiful. We were looking for a quiet and secluded place. We appreciated the pool and our son enjoyed a lot the kid swing ! We recommend this place.

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We had a great time. Our first time staying at a gite in France and it felt just like home. All the outdoor games were great, especially badminton. Lovely area and very well located to get to the historical places or down to beautiful beaches. Thank you, we loved it!!

Great stay again, 4th year running! You always make us feel so welcome and we feel right at home. Went to Granville, Carentan and Damfront. We find something new every time we come. We'll see you again next year. Thanks again.

We just spent two wonderful weeks at Manoire de Saule, outside of St Lo, Normandy. Howard and Ioana were warm and welcoming hosts, as well as informative about the sites to see in St Lo area, Mont St Michel and the Normandy Landing Beaches. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped, perfect for cooking simple meals. Everything was provided including cleaning materials. The property was spacious with a connecting garden and a pool. We chose this apartment because of its central location for those historic locations. But most of all, we selected the area for cycling. We were not disappointed; the rural roads were smooth, the countryside was charming, and the villages offered delightful cafes to replenish our energy. We even found the drivers were courteous to cyclists! If interested, ask Ioana for details on our routes.
The Donnells family A home away from home- great holiday cottage, relaxing, quiet and private. Visited Mont St Michael worth the trip, fantastic scenery and history. D-day beaches and 360 museum were well worthwhile visit- describes the scale of WW2. Thank you very much for having us, we were very well looked after and would like to come back as we have a feeling we have just scratched the surface in terms of activities in this area!
The Brown family Our first visit to France and we chose wisely! Amazing gite in a great central location to explore this historical area. Thank you Ioana and family for giving us recommendations. D-day exhibition and Dead Man's Corner (great simulator which our kids found incredible) were our favorite. Pirou beach was lovely, managed to collect a few oysters, free and fresh! Our crazy kids loved the pool and the tennis table and the outdoor games.... Thank you so much. Alison, Ian, Harry, George and Daisy.
The Cade family Thank you Ioana, Howard, George and Max for making us feel so welcome. We loved the gite and loved France. The pool was great for those hot sticky days. It's so quiet and relaxing here!! The velorail was great fun and we enjoyed seeing the tapestry in Bayeux. We will recommend this gite to our friends and we may well be back. Keep in touch.
Brian and Charlotte I had no idea Basse Normandie was so lushly beautiful - and Ioana's wonderful gite (we stayed in the La Pettite Saule) slots nicely into the general splendour. We were in relatively easy reach of Mont St Michel, the port town of Granville with its excellent seafood restaurants. We also explored the northern reaches of the Cotentin peninsula, notably Cap de la Hague and environs. The peninsula is a joy for birdwatchers, lighthouse enthusiasts and brocante hunters alike, and less touristed than Brittany.

As for the gite, it is well-run, perfectly clean. A neat little kitchen and living/dining room, comfortable double bed up the stairs, a selection of board games and an well established garden on the doorstep. Every night I just stood at the doorway absorbing the clean countryside smells, the bird songs, and the sight of glorious sunsets. Ioana's advice on sites and practicalities was very useful. Wonderful!!

We thank you for the wonderful holiday we've spent in Normandy. Everything was special, from the fantastic places, comfortable and clean rooms, beautiful garden to the well sustained swimming pool. The hosts were very nice and friendly. They gave us information about what we could visit in the area. The owners are perfect the hosts! We would come back anytime with great pleasure.

We had a wonderful stay in the 2 bedroomed gite, great facilities, close to all the sights we wanted to see and great value for money. Howard and Ioana are great hosts, full of information and help if required. I would recommend Manoir de Saule to anyone looking for a base in Normandy.
The Gallant family Thank you Ioana, Howard, George and Max for being such fabulous hosts. We have had a truly wonderful few days here and are so impressed with the beautiful gite. We were also blessed with good weather, so have had some lovely outside times playing badminton, tennis table and eating alfresco! A fascinating area too full of history. We wish you well with the business and we will recommend you to everyone!! Until next time.
Olly, Jenny, Belle and Frankie We have enjoyed our first family holiday so much. The gite itself is lovely although our 2 & 4 year olds have spent most of the time running around the gardens. They had to be bribed away from the swings and pool with meals! It is stunningly beautiful here and we have set the bench mark so high for our holidays to come, that we may just come back here! A big thank you to Ioana, Howard, George and Max and the cats and the ducks for making us feel so welcome (please adopt us all!).
Steve Chapman Loved this place. Modern inside yet retaining the typical French ambiance. Very clean and well maintained by the perfect hosts. Friendly and very helpful yet not obtrusive. Probably the best place we have stayed in over 10 years of holidaying in France.

We rented a superb 2 bedroomed self catering gite that was furnished to a high standard. The Gite is set in a beautiful surrounding that includes a swimming pool and other activities. The were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The gites location near St. Lo makes it a perfect base to visit Bayeaux and the D Day landing beaches. I highly recommend this gite to those looking to enjoy the historic Normandy sites.

Stayed during summer period. Owners were lovely, around if needed. Gite was easy to find, large and spotless. Kids loved the pool and open gardens. Simple access to WWII beaches and museums.

A great destination for a memorable holiday. The gite is situated in some beautiful surroundings, it's modern and the cleaning is at the higher standards. The hosts are welcoming, courteous and very helpful. It is a great location for getting to know the beautiful department of Manche and most of Calvados. We have also enjoyed relaxing time in our private gardens and by the pool. 10 out of 10!!

We were warmly welcomed by the English owners, Ioana and Howard Baker and their two sons, who live on the estate as well. The owners are very helpful and do their utmost to help you in the best manner. Of the two gites available we stayed at the spacious 4-5 persons cottages. The photos presented on the website provide a good and realistic picture of the gites. The gites is well maintained, modern and clean. You can argue about the lack of a dishwasher but on the other hand it has a washing machine. WIFI is available. To enjoy the lovely weather you can eat outside or enjoy the sun in your (private) garden. Besides there are shared facilities such as a playground, swimming pool, table tennis, petanque field, football field. Overall it is quiet and there are no disturbing noises. Manoir de Saule is located slightly north of Saint-Lo. At some 7km there is a large shopping centre. More interesting it is located in the heart of the Manche. Therefore is very well located to explore this department: in the East the WWII beaches, cemeteries and museums, in the North Cherbourg and its coastline and in the West Coutances, Granville and Le Mont Saint Michel. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. We highly recommend to stay at Manoir de Saule and we wish the Baker family all the best running the estate.

We had a fantastic stay at one of the Gites. It was a great location for visiting all that Normandy has to offer (which kept both ourselves and our 5 and 7 year old very entertained) as well as being within easy access to the ferry ports at Caen and Cherbourg. We had a very warm welcome from the hosts and they provided us with a lot of useful local information. The Gite was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds and was equipped with everything we needed for the week. We really enjoyed the pool which was also lovely and clean. We had a great holiday and hope to visit again.

Second visit to this wonderful place. Very welcoming hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The area has everything from beaches to ancient and modern history and convenient for the ferry ports. The gite is very well equipped, cosy and peaceful. We will definitely be visiting again.
